It has been reported that Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) is significantly struggling with its iPhone sales in China, which serves as the second largest smartphone market for the Cupertino-based tech giant. Strong competition from local brands is seen as the main culprit for Apple’s recent woes in the country, which could potentially be on the rise, as Xiaomi has unveiled two new high-end smartphone devices.
Xiaomi has developed a habit of making unexpected surprises, and it was no different during its most recent event. After showing off the powerful specifications incorporated on the Mi Note 2, Xiaomi unveiled it's ‘futuristic’ looking Mi Mix concept smartphone. We have used the term futuristic as the concept smartphone featured a bezel-less ‘edge-to-edge’ display screen.
Interestingly, the Chinese smartphone giant spent a long time talking about its concept design for the Mi Mix, but the company revealed at the end of its presentations that it plans to make its Mi Mix concept into a reality very soon. Surprise!
Packed with every specification you can imagine for a high-end smartphone; the Xiaomi Mi Mix is a powerful device that comes with a very reasonable price tag. The device features a generous 6.4-inch display which has been uniquely altered to enhance the elegance of the device. The proximity sensor in the Mi Mix has been replaced with ultrasound, the front camera is placed on the bottom of the device, and the speaker grills have been replaced with a piezoelectric system which use the frame of the smartphone to generate sound.
The internal specifications for the Mi Mix are just as impressive as the device is powered by the latest generation Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processing chipset, which is also incorporated in the recently launched Google Pixel smartphones. Also, the smartphone features a massive 6GB RAM along with the 256GB of internal memory built in the device. Mi Mix is made to last, as 4,400mAh battery powers the smartphone. Furthermore, the device features a 16mp camera which is tipped to produce capable shots and videos. Xiaomi Mi Mix comes with a 3.5mm headphone jack too. Take notes, Apple!
Xiaomi expects to launch its Mi Mix by October 4, but it is highly unlikely that the smartphone will see the light of day in North America anytime soon.
