The tech world is eagerly waiting for Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) to announce its refreshed MacBook Pro which has been speculated about for the past year. The much discussed MacBook Pro 2016 is tipped to arrive before the end of the month and for Apple’s sake we hope this is true, as the Cupertino based tech giant has witnessed a consistent drop in its PC market share for the past eight quarters, according to official statistics.
It is no secret that the PC world is going through a bit of a flux at the current moment which has had adverse effects on major manufacturers, including Apple. Earlier, IDC and Gartner reported that the PC market had seen a constant drop in sales in the last few quarters which highlighted the issue for every major PC manufacturer in the market. Interestingly, Apple has experienced a larger hit to its market share compared to the average statistics associated with the PC world. According to the latest reports generated by Gartner, the tech giant has seen a drop in its computer shipments by almost 13.4% in the third quarter of 2016, which is an alarming state, considering there was only one major PC manufacturer which performed worse than Apple.
According to Gartner, Apple currently holds just 7.2 % of the PC market share which highlights why it is crucial for the tech giant to announce a refreshed line-up of its MacBook Pro models. It was highly disappointing when the company did not reveal any specifics regarding its next generation MacBook Pro during its September Event but there is still hope that Apple will hold a separate event during the end of the month to launch a refreshed line-up of its current generation MacBook Pro. We already know that the tech giant is set to incorporate MacOS Sierra in its next generation of computer devices, but other than this, there are mere speculations regarding what the highly anticipated MacBook Pro 2016 will be all about.
It has been a long time since Apple refreshed its current generation line-up of MacBook Pro, so it might as well be now or never for the struggling tech giant. Releasing a refreshed MacBook Pro line-up might be Apple’s best chance at improving its sales performance and regaining its lost market share in the PC world. Do comment and let us know if you are looking forward to a refreshed MacBook Pro model.
