Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) has officially sent out invites to the media and leading tech analyst regarding its upcoming October event, where the Cupertino-based tech giant is tipped to introduce a host of new and exciting hardware. It has been highly rumored that the company is looking to refresh its current line of MacBook devices by incorporating numerous new features, including a unique keyboard.

Interestingly, Apple is rumored to be working on a new kind of keyboard which is designed to alter its built-in characters to incorporate emojis. Speculation has dubbed this new keyboard as the ‘e-ink’ which could be announced during the October event. It is highly possible that the tech giant implements this new keyboard in its refreshed MacBook devices, which are tipped to be declared by the end of the month.

However, the Wall Street Journal (WSJ) reports that Apple will look to implement its e-ink keyboard from its 2018 releases. This report from WSJ has come only days after it was reported that the Cupertino company was collaborating with Australia-based keyboard tech company Sonder Design. It is believed that Sonder Design, which is currently backed by Foxconn, is in the process of developing the mentioned e-ink keyboard for its partner’s upcoming MacBook devices.

It is also said that Apple is looking to make its upcoming e-ink keyboard a standard feature on its MacBook devices. However, if the latest speculation is correct, then the e-ink keyboard is likely to be ready in time to be incorporated in the upcoming 2016 refreshed MacBook devices.
