The PlayStation Network will be undergoing maintenance next week, as announced by Sony. The only device which will be affected by this maintenance will be the PlayStation 4, but only for an hour. Although not all, some of the features of the console will not be able work while the maintenance is being carried out.
The maintenance will start at 10:30PM PT to 11:30PM PT on October 25, which is 1:30AM ET to 2:30AM ET on October 26. The one hour maintenance will let users have access to most of the applications on the console, except for PlayStation Video, Account Management, and PlayStation Store. Players will not be able to access the store to download anything whether it be a game, an application, or an update.
Sony said, ”We strive to ensure that PlayStation Network services are available at all times, but occasionally we must take PlayStation Network offline to perform essential maintenance and implement feature enhancements. We are working hard to reduce the duration of each maintenance.” It is good to see that the maintenance will only last for an hour, meaning players will not have to wait for a long while in order to download games releasing on that day, such World of Final Fantasy and Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2.
The latest update, which was version 4.01, did not bring many changes except for improving the system performance of the console. Update 4.00 was the major update which changed the whole design layout of the PS4 software, while also adding the HDR support ability across all PS4s.
